- About MacsBugApp 6.5.4a1
- 11/6/96
-
- MacsBugApp 6.5.4a1 is the first public release of an application version of MacsBug. This
- does everything MacsBug does, except allow you to debug programs (that means no stepping,
- breakpoints, A-Trap breaks, etc.). The most useful things it allows you to do are display and
- set memory and run dcmds.
-
- How is this useful?
-
- We intend to replace the TestDcmd application, the current tool for debugging dcmds, with
- this new application. TestDcmd suffers from a number of problems, the most obvious that
- it hasn't kept up to date with dcmd interface changes that MacsBug 6.5 has introduced. With
- an application version of MacsBug that's built from the same source base as MacsBug itself,
- this problem will be eliminated.
-
- How do I use it?
-
- Place the dcmd(s) you're interested in debugging in a folder called “MacsBug Preferences”
- at the same level as the MacsBugApp application. When launched, MacsBugApp will
- load any dcmds it finds in this folder. You can then use the real MacsBug (or potentially
- another debugger) to debug your dcmd as it runs within MacsBugApp.
